As a Southbank resident I fully support the Garden Bridge. It is a very novel idea and will provide valuable green space to the area and new vistas up and down the river.

The Garden

Welcome to London’s new garden.

The Garden Bridge will offer a new kind of green space in the heart of the city, cementing London’s status as the greenest capital in Europe. Designed to reflect the rich cultural heritage of London’s River Thames and both riverbanks, it will provide an ever-changing seasonal landscape.

The Garden Bridge will be an extraordinarily special place, either to race across, relax in or look back at the rest of the city’s sights.

The Bridge

A breathtaking 366m-long copper-nickel structure.

The bridge will be beautiful from all angles. It has been designed to offer people different ways to experience the garden. For commuters, it will provide a quick and beautiful route across the river. For wanderers, the bridge will create a series of intimate spaces in which to stop and linger.

I have lived and worked in London for 15 years. I often walk along the Southbank to unwind after work or when out with friends and family during the weekend. This will be a fantastic addition to this very pedestrian friendly part of London that belongs to us all.
