Garden Bridge Trust

About the garden bridge trust

Our mission

We are a UK registered charity dedicated to making the Garden Bridge a reality. We want to create a magical new place in London – a new public garden that will provide the local community and visitors with unique new ways to experience both the city and the River Thames.

We will make sure that the bridge will be a place for relaxation, recreation and social interaction, encouraging people to enjoy London on foot.

We want to give people a unique garden that will invigorate passion for horticulture and nature in the city. We are committed to advancing public education and training in horticulture and arboriculture on the Garden Bridge. We will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Garden Bridge, safeguarding the future of both the bridge and the garden. We will continue to work with organisations on both sides of the river in order to establish a long-term sustainable relationship with local communities.

We’re passionate about what the Garden Bridge could do for London and are committed to working with others who share our dream. We believe that the Garden Bridge will become a great landmark for London. Together, we can be part of something that our children and our children’s children can walk on and enjoy, something that we can all be proud of.

The trustees

“There are many challenges on a project like this, not just in the building of a bridge, raising the funds or indeed ensuring that the garden reflects our wonderful nation, but also in making sure that in decades to come people celebrate it as an iconic part of London’s landscape. We have a very committed group of trustees with the right blend of skills but we need everyone’s support. We want you all to become ‘Bridge Builders’! Please help us make the Garden Bridge a reality.”
